Research Assistant
Leota is a first year MPH candidate from Atlanta who is working on the Rate the Labels project. She plans to concentrate on maternal and child health among minority communities, as well as toxicology.  

Hayley Brown Hayley Brown BA
Research Assistant
Hayley just completed her first year in the MPH program, and is working on the Rate the Labels Project. She has experience as a clinical research coordinator in a medical office.  Her interests include health behavior and community health.

Sara Johnson-Cardona Sara Johnson-Cardona BA
Research Assistant
A second-year student in the MSW program at the Brown School, Sara has worked as a Research Assistant at Children’s Hospital Boston and as an Americorps volunteer in Chicago. She currently works on the Smoke-Free Homes Project and with the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network on the MIYO project.

Research Assistant
Maggie is a first year MPH student with an interest in technology and the dissemination of health information. She is working with the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network on the MIYO project. Her background is in communications and she has experience working on an international non-profit in social media, online community management, public relations and marketing.

Rebecca Gernes is a first-year MSW/MPH candidate working on the Ozioma project. She plans to concentrate in social and economic development, and is interested in working with organizations and communities to reduce health disparities.



Stephanie Larson Stephanie Larson BA
Research Assistant
Stephanie is a first year MSW student who is working with the Rate the Labels project. She has worked in public schools and with non-profit organizations. Her interests include program evaluation and effectiveness and grant writing.

John RinconJohn Rincón
Research Assistant
John Rincón is an undergraduate at Washington University, where he is majoring in International Area Studies and Computational Biology. He is currently working on the Make It Your Own (MIYO) Project. He has experience in helping to create a new business, and is interested in the intersection of health and entrepreneurship, especially in the area of low-cost technologies.

Katherine Semenkovich
Research Assistant
Katherine is currently an undergraduate at Washington University, where she is majoring in Psychology. She is working on the Ozioma project and is involved in research assessing the influence of tobacco policies and taxes on cancer health disparities.
